Jonelle & Richard’s San Francisco Engagement Session
How oh how could I have waited so long to blog my BEST friends engagement session?? GAH! I could blame it on many things like pregnancy brain or I ate too much and just woke up from a food coma or my 2 year old daughter made me do it. Or I just simply suck. That’s probably the best answer. Blah!
So my hubby and I came up to San Francisco from Sacramento early for brunch with Jonelle and Richard before we started shooting. It was so nice to be in the city! It had been waaaay too long since I got to go up there to just hang out so I made sure to come up early to do just that. We went to a bakery that served pasteries for brunch. It wasn’t just your average donuts and danish bakery. Oh no, this fancy little shop had mini quiches with a runny yolk in the center. Glazed blah blah with caramelized blah blah on top. Lots of visually beautiful cakes with a hipster vibe to them. Is it weird that food has a hispter vibe? They served a lot of things I couldn’t pronounce so I just pointed and nodded and shoved the food in my face.
After we were stuffed, we went to see the MUA who was going to do Jonelle’s wedding makeup for her trial (always get your trial done the same day as your engagement session so you can see how you photograph). I sat with her while the guys went down the street to the local bar. One and a half hours later we had a gorgeous girl (not that she even needed makeup!) and we were ready to rock and roll! Without further adieu…
And if you guys are curious about why the Golden Gate look so far in one photo and hella close in the other. I used a 35mm for one and a 70-200mm at 200 for the other. The 200mm give great compression and allows the background to come up closer. Love Love LOVE the 70-200 for that reason!
Amy and Christian were wed on New Years Eve and it had to have been the party of the century! I had so much fun shooting them that it hardly felt like working. I had so much fun with them when we did their engagement session so I knew their wedding was going to be a blast!
These two met on a plane while both going to Germany. They had a long distance relationship for a while as Amy lived in Colorado and Christian lived in California. After a year or so of being together, Christian drove 10 hours to Oregan to where Amy was on Christmas eve and proposed to her. Since Christian is a kick ass videographer, he created a beautiful video for Amy documenting the proposal and I cried like a baby! Everything about it was straight out of a movie. View the proposal video here and I dare you not to cry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At7dGx8WaOs
The night of the wedding was nothing short of amazing. During the toasts her sister put together a rap performance and blew everyone out of the water. To top that Christian surprised Amy with a dance routine to Genuwine’s “My pony” that incorporated the groomens when it was the garter tossing time. I had no idea Christian could dance! And then Amy’s sister tackled Amy for the bouquet during the bouquet toss. Don’t take my word for it! You’ll have to view the photos below to see the most epic New Years Eve wedding!
Jenn and Adam got married in December at the Sequoia Mansion in Placerville. If there was a wedding where everyone was relax and everything fell into place, this would be it. The day called for rain but we didn’t see a drop. It always seems like my clients always luck out and someone above was looking out for them. Such a great couple and such a great day!
